Wonderopolis

I was reading last month’s copy of Educational Leadership on Reading – The Core Skill and came across an excellent website that is worth sharing.

Wonderopolis was created by the National Center for Family Literacy and is focussed on encouraging literacy-strengthening activities in children.  Each day the site posts “wonder” questions on a variety of different topics that encourage students to puzzle, ask questions, and explore topics that might interest them.  Each post includes a video, simple text that introduces the topic being explored, cool learning activities, a list of vocabulary encountered in the text, and links to other sites for those students still wondering.

Check it out!
